# Sacristo

> Sacristo is church money software for a small or mid-size United States church: payroll including the clergy housing allowance and the dual tax status that makes a minister an employee for income tax and self-employed for Social Security, the annual budget against actual giving, and the tithe and offering recorded by household so the annual contribution statements come out of the record. It publishes a free church budget worksheet and guides on church payroll, pastor compensation and giving records, and it publishes no tax advice.

## What this is for

- The church administrator, business manager, treasurer or bookkeeping volunteer at a small or mid-size US church with people on payroll, at least one of them clergy, and a budget the board approves and then asks about all year.,Not a church without paid staff, where a spreadsheet is genuinely enough; not the person choosing church management, membership or facility software; not a general business shopping for payroll; and not a member of the congregation.
